Notice to Homeowners who rent out their home as a Vacation Home Rental (VHR)
The city of South Lake Tahoe is being very aggressive about enforcing the new Vacation Home Rental rules.
Violations can result in fines up to $1,000 with no warnings.
Do yourself a favor - learn what the rules are and make sure you & your renters follow them!
Pay special attention to:
. having a legitimate, up to date permit for renting your home as a VHR
. allowing only the number of permitted occupants
. allowing only the number of permitted vehicles in the proper parking locations
. controlling noise & shutting off any hot tub, especially after 10:00 PM
. making sure garbage is kept in proper receptacles.
. Bear Boxes are required to be installed at all VHRs by 9/30/18. Contact the ACC for approval.
Violations can result in fines to both the homeowner and renter.

as these seem to be the most common violations resulting in citations being issued.
